[Officiant] Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:2
[Officiant] Let us humbly confess our sins to Almighty God.
[All] Almighty and most merciful Father,
we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
We have followed too much the devices and desires
of our own hearts.
We have offended against your holy laws.
We have left undone those things which we ought to have done,
and we have done those things which we ought not
to have done;
and apart from your grace, there is no health in us.
O Lord, have mercy upon us.
Spare all those who confess their faults.
Restore all those who are penitent, according to your promises
declared to all people in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake,
that we may now live a godly, righteous, and sober life,
to the glory of your holy Name. Amen.
[Officiant] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Grant to your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace;
that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a
quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Officiant | O Lord, open our lips; |
All | And our mouth shall proclaim your praise. |
Officiant | O God, make speed to save us; |
All | O Lord, make haste to help us |
Officiant | Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; |
All | As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. |
Officiant | Praise the Lord. |
All | The Lord’s Name be praised. |
[All] O gracious Light,
pure brightness of the everliving Father in heaven,
O Jesus Christ, holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun,
and our eyes behold the vesper light,
we sing your praises, O God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices,
O Son of God, O Giver of life,
and to be glorified through all the worlds.
19You spoke once in vision and said to your faithful people: *
"I have set the crown upon a warrior
and have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20I have found David my servant; *
with my holy oil have I anointed him.
21My hand will hold him fast *
and my arm will make him strong.
22No enemy shall deceive him, *
nor any wicked man bring him down.
23I will crush his foes before him *
and strike down those who hate him.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen.
[Officiant]
5When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, appealing to him 6and saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible distress." 7And he said to him, "I will come and cure him." 8The centurion answered, "Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed. 9For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes, and to another, 'Come,' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this,' and the slave does it."
10When Jesus heard him, he was amazed and said to those who followed him, "Truly I tell you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. 11I tell you, many will come from east and west and will eat with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12while the heirs of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." 13And to the centurion Jesus said, "Go; let it be done for you according to your faith." And the servant was healed in that hour.
14When Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever; 15he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve him. 16That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and cured all who were sick. 17This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah, "He took our infirmities and bore our diseases."
Officiant | The Word of the Lord. |
All | Thanks be to God. |
[All]
Lord, you now have set your servant free*
to go in peace as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior,*
whom you have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations,*
and the glory of your people Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.
Officiant | The Lord be with you. |
All | And with your spirit. |
Officiant | Let us pray. |
[All] Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Officiant | O Lord, show your mercy upon us; |
All | And grant us your salvation. |
Officiant | O Lord, guide those who govern us; |
All | And lead us in the way of justice and truth. |
Officiant | Clothe your ministers with righteousness; |
All | And let your people sing with joy. |
Officiant | O Lord, save your people; |
All | And bless your inheritance. |
Officiant | Give peace in our time, O Lord; |
All | And defend us by your mighty power. |
Officiant | Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten; |
All | Nor the hope of the poor be taken away. |
Officiant | Create in us clean hearts, O God; |
All | And take not your Holy Spirit from us. |
[Officiant] Father, grant through your Spirit that we might embody more of who Jesus is. Help us to love your glory, and set aside our temporal interests in favor of your eternal kingdom. Grant that we would treasure what you treasure, and, so doing love this your created world and its people all the more, longing and striving for its redemption, which you have already secured on the cross and through the resurrection of your beloved Son, Jesus.
[All] O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
[Officiant]
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep
this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.
Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the
dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous;
and all for your love’s sake. Amen.
We pray for peace in Israel and Palestine. We pray for deliverance from this terrible war. Please bring about a just peace that frees Israel from terrorism and establishes a safe, flourishing dwelling place for Palestinians. Please make an end to the awful logic of war through a true peace.
We pray for the peace of Ukraine. Please bring about a just peace. Free Russia and Ukraine from the depredations of Vladimir Putin.
Amen
[Officiant] We will now take time for everyone to pray, silently or aloud, for their own petitions and those of others.
For the next few minutes pray silently or out loud for those prayer needs that are on your minds. Officiant will say “let us be finishing up” toward the end and then allow some time for finishing. All then pray the next prayer together, "The General Thanksgiving".
[All] Almighty God, Father of all mercies,
we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks
for all your goodness and loving-kindness
to us and to all whom you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before you
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
[Officiant] Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time, with one accord to make our common supplications to you; and you have promised through your well-beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his Name you will grant their requests: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting. Amen.
Officiant | Let us bless the Lord. |
All | Thanks be to God. |
[Officiant]The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
